Recommended podcasts - IT Security
Here are the IT Security podcasts that I actually listen to. The list includes the title, feed, and a short description of the podcast. I didn’t look up the URLs for the show notes and so forth, but if you google the title of the podcast in quotes, it should be the first hit in each case.
Drum roll please!
CyberSpeak (http://feeds.feedburner.com/cyberspeak)
Hosted by two former federal agents who investigated computer crime, this is a technology Podcast covering Computer Security, Computer Crime and Computer Forensics Topics.
Personal Note: As with many multiple host shows, it tends to be conversational and isn’t as densely packed with info. On the other hand, it’s also easier to listen to than some. Here’s a sample show description:
This show we speak with the Dark Tangent about changes this year for DEF CON and BlackHat. Also in this episode we discuss the UBS Painwebber logicbomb trial, consultant hacks FBI, two-factor authentication phishing attacks, Symantec says Windows Vista is less secure than Windows XP, throw away email accounts, truecrypt flash tutorial, sodaplay (let me know what this is), website to transfer and share files, tv on the web, Xyloc devices, and a tool to obfuscate your email address in javascript code. The show is 61 mins long. This show is brought to you by the number 45.

Adventures in Security (http://adventuresinsecurity.com/Podcasts/AISSeries/AdventuresinSecurity.xml)
This is a weekly podcast that addresses the challenges facing managers attempting to secure their information assets while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Personal Note: This podcast is often indistinguishable from an audio training course. When the subject matter is of interest to you it can be an excellent resource.
Security Bites (http://news.com.com/html/ne/podcasts/security_bites.xml)
Backdoors, pharming, phishing, rootkits, viruses, worms. Feeling vulnerable? CNET News.coms Joris Evers and CNET.coms Robert Vamosi tell you about the latest security threats, what’s coming, and how to protect your system.
Personal Note: Fairly short. A small amount of advertising. Not as densely packed with technical info as some, but doesn’t require as much concentration to listen to either.
